Leicester City have completed the signature of the former Fulham defender John Pantsil. The Ghanaian has signed a contract at the King Power Stadium for 3 years and he will fly out to Austria to join the rest of the squad for pre-season preparations. Premier League new-boys Swansea and Blackburn were also interested in signing the Ghana international, Leicester have beaten off Premier League opposition yet again. 

Race for Routledge signature back on

The race to sign Newscastle winger Wayne Routledge is back on after reports suggest talks with Swansea have stalled. The Premier League news boys are reportedly unable to pay his high wage demand. Nottingham Forest have also had a bid accepted for Routledge, and are able to offer higher wages than Swansea. However, Sven Goran-Erikkson remains hidden in the background ready to snatch the winger from under both of the clubs' noses. Leicester will be able to offer the best wage packet of the three clubs interested. Leicester are yet to make a formal bid for the winger, but Leicester City FC News understands that they will pursue a formal bid in the coming days to land the winger at the King Power Stadium.

Ball set to be offered a contract

Leicester City FC News understands that Sven Goran-Erikkson is set to offer trialist Michael Ball a contract after impressing during two pre-season fixtures in Sweden. Ball helped City win the Stockholm trophy and his work has not gone unnoticed by the Leicester manager. "If he goes on like this, without getting injuries, I am sure we will offer him a contract. He is a good player, he is experienced and he is good in the dressing room" Sven told BBC Radio Leicester

Sven to battle for Reo-Coker

Sven Goran Eriksson is ready to rival Bolton in an ambitious move for Nigel Reo-Coker.
Reo-Coker, 27, is a free agent after failing to agree terms on a new contract with Aston Villa. Napoli and Hamburg enquired about the combative midfielder, and Bolton boss Owen Coyle wants to hold talks next week. However, Leicester have the financial muscle to offer better wages.


Swansea poised to sign Routledge

Swansea are looking likely favourites to sign Newcastle winger Wayne Routledge for a fee in the region of £1.8 million. Leicester were preparing a bid for Routledge, but Leicester City FC News understands that Swansea will be the winger's desired destination. It is understood that the former England Under-21 International, who stayed in the UK when Newcastle headed to the US for their pre-season tour, will discuss personal terms with Swansea today. If new-boys Swansea secure the signature of Routledge, they will have beaten off competition from Nottingham Forest, Leicester and QPR.

Heskey bid accepted by Villa

Leicester City FC News understands that Aston Villa have accepted a bid of £600,000 from Leicester for striker Emile Heskey. Sven Goran-Erikkson is looking to bolster his attack and has made former CIty star Heskey one of his top priorities this summer. However, the deal is stuttering because of Heskey's high wage demand. Leicester are hopeful to reach an agreement in the coming days.

Robbie Nielson leaves Leicester

Rams eye Oakley return

Derby have expressed and interest in bringing him back to the club and talks are thought to be at an advanced stage. Leicester are looking to trim they squad ahead of the new season, and Oakley looks to be the next person to leave the King Power Stadium. Oakley moved to Leicester from Derby in 2008.

Leeds United Home Fixture moved to Sunday 6th November

Leicester City's visit of Leeds United has been moved forward 24 hours.
The game was due to take place on Saturday November 5 at the Walkers Stadium, but will now take place on Sunday November 6 with a 3pm kick-off.



Up to 4 new players expected to sign before 6th August

Leicester are going to sign up to 4 new players before the start of the season. The owners noticed our poor start to last season, and are determined to build foundations at the start of the new campaign and will create a new-look team before 6th August. Two players rumoured to be signing are Bristol striker Nicky Maynard and Newcastle winger Wayne Routledge. Leicester will need to, yet again, fight off Premier Leage competition for the signature of Routledge. Leicester City FC News understands that a new player will be joining the team in Austria for pre-season by Wednesday this week.

Leicester City confirm they are still in the hunt for Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard. City previously had 3 offers of £2.5, £3.5 and £4.5 million rejected by the club, but are lining up a fourth bid of £6 million for the highly-rated striker. Bristol are certain they will not sell there star player, and are confident he will sign a new deal at the club. However, they risk the possibility of him walking away from Ashton Gate for nothing next summer, so City feel they will tempt Bristol with a fourth bid.

Leicester City bid for Everton Striker Yakubu

Leicester City are reportedly lining up a £4 million bid for out-of-favour Everton striker Yakubu. Yakubu spelt half of last season on loan with the Foxes and impressed manager Sven Goran-Erikkson during his 5 months at the King Power Stadium. Yakubu has dropped down the ranks at Everton, and they are wanting a quick sale of Nigerian target man. However, Yakubu may yet not sign for the Foxes because of his desire to play Premier League Football. Reports have suggested that Everton FC no longer sell Yakubu shirts, and he has withdrawn from Everton's pre-season tour in America
